Privacy Calculator – Question 4
Do you visit health websites or use social media websites?
Yes
If you answered yes, any information you provide these websites is generally fair game for commercial collection and sale. This includes your IP address, any survey answers, all searches and search terms, the pages you look at and for how long, and the list goes on. The sites use this data to build your health profile. Read their privacy policies very carefully. Just be aware that there is virtually no way to keep your sensitive health information private when you use the Internet.
If you are a member of Facebook, you can learn more with this Facebook Quiz provided by one of our Coalition members, the ACLU. Please note that you will no longer be on our site. You can read the ACLU’s privacy policy and go to the application to learn more about online privacy.
